Yuna may have to go on a pilgrimage to pray to the fayth so she can get some totally kick arse Aeons, Dark souls sends you on a pilgrimage to ring some bells... hell's bells more like! And guarded by some super tough enemies. Even the lowliest enemy can and will KILL you if you take them too lightly. This is a sword game for sure (or axe, spear ect depending on your palate) but don't think that hacking and slashing will get you anywhere.... but dead!
Patience is the key to victory in dark souls.
Cinematically the game is beautiful! The artwork and character design MARVELOUS! When one of the boss's crashes his way on scene to smite you with his awesomeness it looks amazing.
[SPOILER ALERT]So, when starting the game what gift item should you choose? Alot of people want the master key (the key of keys to rule all other keys!) but well, this thing doesn't open that many doors in truth, and the ones it does open.... trust me, you don't wana go there until you're suppose to go there! because well, the enemies will be way out of your league, and they'll uh, kill you. I myself chose the witches ring, it allows you to upgrade your estus flask by giving a fire keeper soul to Anastacia of Astora just below the firelink shrine, if you don't have the ring you won't get a response when you try and talk to her. The fire keeper soul is in the church, you'll find it (^_^!)
This is a very involving game that has ALOT of lore to it, so many different types of souls and shards and special little secrets, 'one does not simply' pick it up and breeze through it, this is no god of war,it is high echelon.
There are afew tactics you can use to get off to a running start, like a farmer you need to harvest, harvest and harvest some more! harvest what? SOULS!
If you kill a level boss (the major ones,) your humanity level will stop increasing with enemy kill counts, (so, the boss on top of the church will end increases for the undead burg) so do all your harvesting before going to the top of the church, the higher your humanity the more chance you have to find dropped items. I did a lap starting from the bonfire on the bridge up to the church and back, you get around 3K souls each run plus a bunch of items, sometimes the rats drop humanity. Be warned, wearing heavy armour slows your character down alot! So choose armour wisely, this also includes equiped weapons! If the dragons on the bridge go underneath and shoot his tail with your bow or crossbow about 30 times and he drops a special sword =)
The undead burg is just the tip of the ice berg (^_^!) So be prepared! I leveled up to 50 before leaving to make sure i was 'well prepared' for what lies ahead *nods* So have fun! Oh, yeah, online play.... play offline, if you reverse hollow to become human other players will invade your game and kill you, like alot, which is a pain in the arse when your just starting out and a level 124 guy jumps in and kills you in one hit with some flaming sword. I saw in forums alot of cry babies whinging about how they can't beat the bosses without help from other players, umm, get some SKILLS!! geeeez think and look for a weakness, then pow! strike! AnYwAy, i give this game 9/10 for its awesomeness and depth.
